國立臺北科技大學頒授名譽博士學位給2010年諾貝爾化學獎得主根岸英一，同時聘請根岸英一參與典範科大諮詢小組，為臺灣技職教育提供建言。根岸英一也建議年輕學生，35歲以前要找到自己的興趣，完全投入熱情，並下定決心前進。
National Taipei University of Technology awarded a honorary doctorate degree to the prizewinner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2010 根岸英一 as well as invited him to participate in the consulting team for the program of model university of technology. He suggested young students to find out their own interests before thirty-five years old and totally devote themselves to them with determination.
